DINING OUT IN PARK CITY

American Continental Cuisine

350 Main New American Brasserie Known for its fresh oysters, mussels, and shellfish, as well as tuna and sea bass specials, this Old Town restaurant has copper furniture and a rust-tinted ceiling. Your visit to Park City will not be complete if you leave without sampling the "Ahi Tower", comprised of ahi tuna, himachi, avocado and mango to list a few ingredients. Located across the way is The Spur, which also serves the Ahi Tower, appetizers and a few light entrees including fish and chips. Both are warm and inviting after a day on the slopes. The Spur is a local’s favorite as a private club.

Blind Dog Restaurant and Sushi Bar
This restaurant was named for the owner’s blind black lab, Rigger, the Blind Dog. It is located in Prospector Square and is a little of the East Coast nestled in the Wasatch Mountains. Awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence three consecutive years and voted "Best Casual Dinner" by Food and Wine Magazine. The Blind Dog consistently offers a fabulous selection of fresh fish, oysters, lobster, crab and steaks.

Chez Betty
Chez Betty is located in the Copper Bottom Inn just off Park Avenue in historic Park City, Utah. Open since 1991 it features a warm and unique ambiance, award-winning service, and quality cuisine featuring Chef Jerry Garcia’s renowned culinary expertise. The seasonal menu has been described as "American" and "lighter then French" featuring dishes such as thinly shaved prosciutto with house smoke mozzarella and seared beef tartare with warm mushrooms and chili sauce, and roast duck breast with a wild rice flan among others.

The Eating Establishment
The "Double E" as the locals call it is located on near the top of Main Street. This affordable local favorite is known for its hearty, keep-you-skiing-all-morning breakfasts and its barbecue dinner specials. Breakfast is excellent with the best eggs benedict and skillet dishes in town. Dine on the patio in winter; the glass roof, atrium, fireplaces, and plants make any day seem warm and bright.

The Glitretind Restaurant
Self-described as "a European mountain bistro", it’s really more of a grand lodge. The menu highlights wild game dishes like grilled buffalo and venison, but also offers lunch sandwiches on thick, crusty bread, and dinners of Asian duck, baked salmon, or tender steaks. Enjoy views of the Heber and Deer Valley. Reservations are essential.

Grub Steak Restaurant
They specialize in 28 days aged Black Angus Beef, Game, slow cooked Prime Rib, fresh Fish and Seafood. A 45 item fresh Salad Bar or Caesar Salad is included with all entrees, as well as a choice of baked potato, creamed spinach, harvest rice or mashed potatoes. Breads and desserts are homemade and delightful, prepared daily by Tim. The atmosphere at the Grub Steak is casual, the memorabilia and pictures on the wall give the restaurant a distinctly Western atmosphere.

Prime Steak House
Prime Steakhouse has only the finest midwestern custom aged beef. In their 1800-degree broiler they seal in the flavor by broiling it exactly the way you specify. They proudly serve your steak on a heated plate to keep your steak hot throughout or none at all!

The Riverhorse Café
The two large upper-level warehouse rooms that make up this caf resemble an ultramodern big-city supper club, with exposed beams, polished hardwood floors, black and white furnishings, and walls adorned with huge portraits of such well-known Native Americans as Sitting Bull and Geronimo. House specialties include ahi tuna in a puff pastry tart with eggplant and citrus sauce; charred rack of Utah lamb in a cabernet demiglace; and goat cheese ravioli with roasted garlic and fresh herbs. Don’t miss the restaurant’s signature mashed potatoes. Reservations are essential.

Wasatch Brew Pub
The bar overlooks the brewing area in this popular, noisy brewpub. You can get the usual pub grub, including fish-and-chips, beer-battered shrimp, and cheese steaks. Dinner is a bit more adventuresome, with dishes such as fresh Utah trout with roasted garlic herb butter, rack of New Zealand lamb with fresh mint sauce, and an Asian stir-fry of fresh vegetables cooked in seasoned sesame oil. You’ll find a sports bar upstairs and an outside patio for warm-weather dining. In addition to the brewery’s own award winning beers, full liquor service is available with meals.

Westgate Grill
Visit the Westgate Grill and meet Chef Don McCrady. This restaurant gets rave reviews from both locals and visitors. Start off with a bowl of French onion soup, then move on to a spinach salad and a delicious dinner. You must save room for the Chocolate soufflé…it is Amazing! They are located in Canyons Resort village, inside of the Westgate hotel.

Windy Ridge
Main Street may be the place to see and be seen dining in this resort town, but it will cost you big time. If you are willing to forgo the voyeurism and dine off-Main, you can find the same quality, but off-Main prices, at Windy Ridge Cafe. At its core, the locals have learned, Windy Ridge maintains Bill White’s high standards in a more humble environment. When it comes to the food at Windy Ridge, named for a peak in the Uinta range visible from the cafe, most offerings could fit under the umbrella of simple and comforting. The market at Windy Ridge also is impressive, with a case full of beautiful desserts and baskets filled with artisan breads as well as a long display case of savory items for carry-out.

Zoom
Owned by Robert Redford, this "western chic" eatery’s specialty is…drum roll, please…macaroni and cheese! Suffice it to say it’s nothing like the stuff in the box. The rest of the menu offers other comfort foods, but always with a twist. Locals favor the tri-tip steak served with grits disguised by garlic and Asiago cheese, or the beefed-up, but meatless, portabello burger. Don’t forget to save room for the chocolate mousse cake with raspberry sauce.

European Cuisine

Adolph’s
If you are looking for a little taste of Switzerland, then venture to Adolph’s and enjoy the fare. Adolph’s fondue and raclette will warm anyone’s heart after an exhilarating day on the slopes. The decor is loaded with old ski pictures and skiing memorabilia. Locals tend to gather in the bar and enjoy a steak sandwich with a glass of wine, but whether dinner or drinks you will always return to Adolph’s. Located in Prospector Square.

The Viking Yurt
This is a mountain dining experience you won’t soon forget. The Viking Dinner Yurt raises your altitude, and your attitude, to new heights! Your evening adventure starts with a spectacular moonlit sleigh ride with incredible views. Most evenings you will be delivered directly to The Viking Yurt. On specified evenings the sleigh will take you to the Red Pine Lodge. There you are equipped with your choice of cross-country skis or snowshoes. Baja Cantina
Western artifacts and ski memorabilia are everywhere, and a sign on the door reads "If You Have Reservations, You Are In the Wrong Place." In the Park City Mountain Resort Center, it’s known for burritos filled with anything and everything from pork chili verde to snow crab and black tiger prawns.

Chimayo Restaurant
Designed after the Chimayo mission in Mexico, this attractive restaurant with fawn-colored stone walls, tiles, and wooden ceiling trusses offers innovative dishes like avocado slaw, seared elk burritos, and crab-stuffed grouper steamed in a banana leaf. The wine list is eclectic, with Spanish and South American varietals.

Loco Lizard Cantina
The cantina is cheery and festive inside, with bright blue walls, lemon-yellow tables, lots of windows and large potted plants to break up the expanse. To start, enjoy the homemade tortilla chips and two salsas that are delivered to every table as diners are seated. Both are excellent, full of tomatoes, onion, garlic and spices, but one is more traditional than the other, which is heavily flavored by smoky chipotle chiles. Entrees range from several types of enchiladas, tacos and burritos, to a wide variety of house specialties.

Italian Cuisine

Café Terigo
This airy café serves several well-prepared pasta and seafood dishes using only fresh ingredients. Good picks include almond-encrusted salmon or smoked chicken with sun-dried tomatoes over fettuccine. Be sure to top your meal off with a helping of bread pudding or mud pie.

Cisero’s Ristorante
"More Than Pasta" Cookin’ since 1985. Located near the top of Historic Main Street, Cisero’s is nestled in a rustic, historic 1906 building. Cisero’s serves homemade Italian cuisine, specializing in fresh pasta and seafood dinners. A family restaurant that prepares a modest meal at a at palatable price.

Grappa Italian Restaurant
In Park City’s historic old town district, this restaurant specializes in ambience and northern Italian dishes. Heavy floor tiles, bricks, and timbers lend a rustic, warm, farmhouse feel. Tables on the wrap-around balcony overlook those on the first floor. The menus, which change seasonally, offer appetizers such as homemade duck prosciutto with a summer-pear and balsamic vinegar salad, and fried calamari served with basil aioli and fresh marinara. Innovative entrées include crisp, pan-fried game hen with spinach tortellini and roasted garlic velouté, as well as pancetta-wrapped chicken fricassee filled with spinach and mushroom risotto, served with summer squash and greens.

Bangkok Thai
If you are in the mood for Thai cuisine, there is one option in Park City for you…Bankok Thai. Their dishes are individually prepared from the finest fresh and exotic ingredients. Shabu This restaurant is a gem in Park City, located on Main Street. Chef Bob Valaika and his brother Bill own this Asian Fusion restaurant. Everything on the menu is fabulous from the Firecracker Shrimp to the Pork Chops. Shabu Shabu is their specialty, with the origins of Shabu Shabu cooking date back many years, where families gathered around a large hot pot for their evening meal. Today, the freshest meat and seafood available, delicious Japanese sauces and a bowl of rice is all that’s needed for a classic meal. Shabu also has the freshest Sushi around. Be sure to end your meal with their fried ice cream and chocolate martini, yummy!

Wahso
This distinctively elegant restaurant boasts an art deco-Victorian interior furnished with authentic Oriental screens, an ebony fireplace, and carvings and pictures from around the world. The food is equally unique, a blending of traditional Oriental ingredients with a French cooking style into deliciously light and healthy offerings. Entrées range from Szechwan-style filet mignon to steamed halibut with spaghetti squash, Burmese curry of roasted monk fish loin to spicy Balinese stir fry of shrimp. Family Style Quick Bites

Main Street Deli
A homey little small town deli, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure to be ready to order when you stand under the "Order Here", or you will be quickly corrected. You order at the counter, quickly you will be served to get you out onto the slopes.

Main Street Pizza Noodle Huge windows, a bright, airy dining area, good no-frills food, and reasonable prices make this a family favorite. The pizzas are made California style, and the pastas and calzones are filling.
